An old wife's tale says that bread baked on Christmas Eve will never go moldy.

LETTERS TO SANTA
Don't get stuck down the chimney. It's really small, and I know you've been eating cookies all year long.
- Robby, 9, Birmingham, United Kingdom.

I know I have a little work to do to stop talking back to my mom, but I am trying to be good. I make my bed everyday and help around the house. I'll leave you 3 kinds of milk this year. Egg Nog - 1% and 2% we have both. Take Care From Devon Dictated to Mom
- Devon, 8, Calgary, Alberta.

People are much nicer during the holidays.
- Josh, 10, Olympia, Washington.

I'm sorry the cookies are kinda black and taste funny. I tried to cook them for you in my special oven without Mommy's help but they didn't turn out too good.
- Sinead, 5, Richmond, British Columbia.
GARDEN UPDATE
Here comes the storm clouds and cold wind. We can feel the moisture in the air and there is a thick blanket of clouds covering the mountains which means it must be raining down the hill. Everything here is covered up and put away for snow.

I love the season where I don't have a lot of money and am forced to look for creative solutions to make the season merry. Here are just a few ideas!

I recycled an old shutter. I spray painted it white, used black splatter paint and then a wire on the back to hang. It is the perfectr Christmas card holder and I always get compliments on it. After the season, behind the door to the guest room it goes.

Dress up your mantel with an old garden wrought iron gate or trellis. If you want a weathered rusted look, there are washes you can use to make it rust. Find these at art supply places such as Michaels, or online.

Recycle a string of old barbed wire, some holly , a big bow and an old boot for a fun art piece.
