Kissing under the mistletoe, except it's a real human toe. @karentozzi

DID YOU KNOW...? 'Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer' was created as a promotion for Montgomery Ward.

Speaking of Rudolph, the most famous of Santa's reindeer came to life as part of a commercial promotion. His first appearance was in a story written in 1939 by ad copywriter Robert L. May that was published in a Montgomery Ward department store promotional booklet given out to children visiting Santa. Since Rudolph was created for Montgomery Ward, the department store owned the copyright and May received no royalties after it became a huge success. Sadly, May almost went bankrupt paying for his ailing wife's medical bills before finally convincing Montgomery Ward to give him the rights to the plucky reindeer. Rudolph became an even bigger success when May set the story to music with the help of his songwriter brother-in-law Johnny Marks. A famous rendition recorded by Gene Autry became one of the best-selling Christmas songs of all time, selling more than two million copies.

DOG CONFESSIONS

BIZARRE CHRISTMAS CARDS

LETTERS TO SANTA
Dont get stuck behined the fire the gas man left you a special magic hole. I saw it last time he came!
- Adam, 4, Wakefield, United Kingdom.

I love you. I hope your elves love you, I hope they make a little song for you.
- Tory, 6, Caracas, Venezuela.

i may be 16 but you know what I still love you. I refuse to denie my inner child. Party on Santa!
- Tatiana, 16, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

I learn English in school and I would happy to get an answer from you. I wish you happy Christmas and a lot of nice letters from children.
- Katka, 10, Napajedla, Czech Republic.

Santa, one time at my old house, I saw Rudolph's nose glowing and I heard reindeer paws on the roof. Right after you left, we opened presents. First, daddy checked to see if you were gone. Love, Ryan
- Ryan, 8, Lewisburg, West Virginia.

Don't get dirty in the chimney or Mrs. Santa will be mad when she has to wash your coat.
- Alex, 3, Butler, Pennsylvania.
GARDEN UPDATE
Two tiny snowflakes is all we have seen so far, but it is still raining and getting colder. All the 'children' (chickens and plants) are nestled all snug in their beds with a heater with dreams of manure tea and sexy roosters in their heads.
12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS ~DAY 1
ON THE FIRST DAY OF CHRISTMAS, your true love gave to you - a partridge in a pear tree...

Sorry, but I couldn't find the partridge so I am giving you some pears from the tree the partridge flew away from...
