GARDEN UPDATE
Overcast and tomato soup weather today. Left some plants covered up and some uncovered. It wasn't near freezing last night, but not taking a chance with my baby plants, so heaters on in the greenhouse and plants have to put up with the covers for the nights.

RECYCLED ART SPOTLIGHT- ARTIST  JOANA VASCONCELOS
Paris-born, Lisbon-based artist Joana Vasconcelos constructs art pieces which inspire comment and reflection. Here are humongous replicas of fashionable high-heel shoes from shiny pots and pans.

This visually arresting, larger-than-life sculptural installation series—aptly entitled ‘Shoes’—have showed all over the world, including Seoul and the Ch√Ęteau de Versailles.

Much more than just stunning ornaments, these giant shoes make a powerful statement about women’s persisting traditional roles in modern society.

Tomorrow we will show more of Joana's art.
