DID YOU KNOW...?
'Bookkeeper' and 'bookkeeping' are the only 2 words in the English language with three consecutive double letters.
NATURE PATTERNS
I was introduced to a new book called "How To Be An Explorer of the World" by Keri Smith. It stimulates your creativity and teaches you to look for the unexpected. As my challenge, I chose nature patterns. Science is now looking to nature for patterns to explain some of life's mysteries.

I confined myself to our back yard and front patio. Once you train your eye to see patterns, they are all over the place! It is like you missed them before.

Some of the objects I used for patterns were an old rusty fire grate, a chimney brush, lawn chair fabric, dirt, concrete, wood, plants, flowers, stones, feathers, metal and sky.

You could use these patterns to make an awesome quilt pattern; many wonderful website backgrounds; a cute handmade card or gift tag; labels for organizing or for gift jars, iron-on t-shirts or pillows; a handmade throw or blanket, or simply frame the images. The possibilities are endless and will forever remind you of your garden in its prime.

Here are some of the patterns I found!

GARDEN UPDATE
Hot again, will Fall never be here? I'm ready for the winter clothes, hot chocolate and s'mores and sweat pants!

My bird of paradise is hanging in there after a rough spell and I have been babying it...now I see a new leaf shoot! So happy!

Bindi got a new meal of fig leftovers. Chickens got the leftover bird-damaged plums and there is not a sliver of plums left this morning!
