Flower Power

"I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay;
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
 William Wordsworth, "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud",1804

FLOWER POWER
Today I had a killer headache that just wouldn't go away; So I decided to use a little flower therapy and get a natural high. Of course, I went shopping!

It's that time of year when we indulge in buying flowers that will bring lasting enjoyment.We love our cottage Victorian eclectic garden that runs wild and abounds with hidden treasures. We believe in letting our plants be themselves...very rarely do we prune or shape or pinch. We like it natural and I think the plants do too.

Buying flowers and plants is such a personal thing, as one of our readers, Cindy, who owns Perfection Landscape design company could tell you. It is so important when planning your garden to reflect your personality.

We are 'different' and like being so, and our garden reflects that.(How many people can say they have an eight foot metal tree made from completely recycled materials that weighs 300 pounds?). We wouldn't want a manicured lawn and perfect hedges. We want to be able to drown ourselves in the beauty that surrounds us, sharing our bounty with bees, birds and butterflies. Your garden will be totally different because YOU are. Never apologize and trust your instincts.Remember, it's YOUR garden!

Still, that doesn't mean we don't have a TON to learn! We're so glad y'all are with us on this journey as we learn together!
