The Raven

"The Raven"
Edgar Allen Poe
Once upon a midnight dreary,
while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore —
While I nodded, nearly napping,
 suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping,
rapping at my chamber door.
"'Tis some visiter," I muttered,
"tapping at my chamber door —
Only this and nothing more.
Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
"Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou," I said, "art sure no craven,
Ghastly grim and ancient Raven wandering from the Nightly shore —
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!"
Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."

DID YOU KNOW...?
that ravens mate for life? If a mate dies, the mate's family takes in the one left behind.

GARDEN UPDATE
Pretty warm feeling today, although the temperature gauge swears it was only 70F.

Worked sweeping the front patio...have now taken out two full roll-a-ways (trash cans equivalent to 2  1/2 regular industrial trash cans) of dead leaves and debris. Good thing tomorrow is trash day, as I am running out of trash cans!
