Pencil Art

"A pencil maker told the pencil some important lessons, just before putting it in the box:

  • Everything you do will always leave a mark
  • You can always correct the mistakes you make
  • In life, you will go through painful sharpening, which will only make you better
  • To be the best pencil, you must allow yourself to be held and guided by the hand that holds you
  • We all need to be constantly sharpened
  • Only you can fulfill the purpose which you were born to accomplish
  • always remember that the most important part of who you are, is what's inside of you."

DOG CONFESSIONS

GARDEN UPDATE
Sweater weather in the a.m. while watering. Sadly, I bid adieu to the snapdragons, who hung in there for as long as they could. There are still a few annuals blooming, like the orange marigolds and a few petunias.

Gave the amaryllis their manure tea, as well as a few other plants. The rhubarb is now ready for the winter.

GARDEN GOODIES~SHARE OUR GARDEN RECIPE #0096 BOB ANDY PIE
The texture of this pie is soft, custardy and comforting. It is often said to have originated among the Amish and is named for two legendary gelding workhorses.

You Will Need:
(3) large eggs
(2) cups whole milk
(1) cup granulated sugar
(2) tablespoons flour
(2) teaspoons ground cinnamon
(1/2) teaspoon salt
1 (10-inch) pie shell
Instructions:
Adjust oven rack to lowest position and heat oven to 325 degrees. Crack eggs in a medium bowl and whisk. Whisk in milk. Add sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt and whisk into milk mixture.

Pour filling into unbaked pie shell. Bake until custard has set and crust is golden, about 50 minutes.

Remove from oven, cool and serve at room temperature or chilled.
Serves 8.
