National Mincemeat Day

"So be sure when you step,

Step with care and great tact.

And remember that Life’s

A Great Balancing Act.

Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.

And never mix up your right foot with your left.

And will you succeed?

Yes! You will, indeed!

(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed)

KID, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS! "

DID YOU KNOW...?
that back in medieval times, mincemeat was a way to preserve meat? Mincemeat back then consisted of ground meat and suet or lard, along with spices. Most mincemeats today are all fruit and spices.

GARDEN UPDATE
Now that the weather is staying cooler at times, I'm back to watering every other day.

Today we purchased white rock for the front pathway. I also lucked out at Lowe's and found some beautiful yellow snapdragons and an iceberg rose in their clearance bin...Score!

If you happen to be in the Huntington Beach California area this Saturday, the Huntington View Garden Club is holding their annual flower show, with a rose show right next door, from 11-3pm. Aunt Ruth will be showing her plants and from what I hear, she is a veteran winner! Good luck to all and congrats to the Huntington View Garden Club for promoting natural beauty!
