JUST BLOOMED TODAY

AWKWARD PHOTO OF THE DAY

TWEET TREATS
bringing you the quirky, funniest and most interesting tweets from Twitter that we came across.
NO! I will NOT knit you a "Thank You" hat, Barry! @karentozzi

DID YOU KNOW...?
The pin that holds a hinge together is called a pintle.
GARDEN UPDATE
The rest of southern California is experiencing what we get pretty much every day-heat. It was pretty hot but I was able to get to watering early so I was hiding inside before it got oppressive. Although it is still hot tonight at 85F at 9pm, it sure seems cooler without the hot sun beating on you.

Found <horrors> a grasshopper in the greenhouse! I DON'T THINK SO. Boy, the crickets sure enjoyed it.

Hubby fed his alligator lizard by hand for the first time today!! This is a huge accomplishment.
DOG CONFESSIONS
Found this hilarious site that you will have a fun time viewing! It's called "Dog-Shaming". It is basically a site done in the United Kingdom that does a 'healthy dose' of shaming...telling everyone what the dog has done, in his own words. Here are just a few (don't worry there are pages and pages of them on the site):
Mom kicked me off her bed so I  took all my pillows to make my own bed

I opened the front door to the Postman while Mom was in the bath

WHAT IN THE WORLD?
On today in American history, people in gardens everywhere were talking about:
1620 The Mayflower sets sail for America
1810 Mexican War of Independence begins
1908 William Durant starts General Motors
1932 Mahatma Ghandi begins protest fast
1940 Franklin Roosevelt approves military draft
1969 Nixon announces the withdrawal of a further 35,000 troops from Vietnam
1976 The Espiscopal Church first allowed the ordination of women
1977 Opera Star Maria Callas dies
1981 Welterweight boxer "Sugar" Ray Leonard knocks out Thomas Hearns in the 13th round to unify boxing’s middleweight title. Leonard was behind on all three judges’ scorecards and fighting with one eye closed when he delivered a right hand to his opponent’s head that sent Hearns crashing to the canvas.
