Cherry Cream Cheese Crumble Bars

In honor of Middle Child Day!

" To the middle child...I've always loved you the best because you drew the dumb spot in the family and it made you stronger for it.

You cried less, had more patience, wore faded and never in your life did anything "first," but it only made you more special. You are the one we relaxed with and realized a dog could kiss you and you wouldn't get sick. You could cross the street by yourself long before you were old enough to get married, and the world wouldn't come to an end if you went to bed with dirty feet.
You were the continuance."   Erma Bombeck

that you can use an old TWISTER game sheet for a cute kid's party tablecloth? Wipes down from messes easily, too!
GARDEN UPDATE
A wee bit of relief today as the sun stayed behind the clouds most of the day but still so humid. None of us are used to that here. Some thunderstorms today as well. Looks like rain.

GARDEN GOODIES~SHARE OUR GARDEN RECIPE #0060 CHERRY CREAM CHEESE CRUMBLE BARS
Ooey, yummy, crumbly bar with sweet cherry filling!

You Will Need:

(4) cups flour
(1/2) tsp salt
(1 1/2) cups sugar
(1/2) cup brown sugar
(1 1/2) cups butter, softened
(1) can cherry pie filling

Cream Cheese Filling

(8) oz cream cheese, softened
(1/3) cup sugar
(1) egg
(1) tsp vanilla

Take the butter out of the fridge to soften (do NOT melt) on the counter.
Combine the flour, salt, white sugar and brown sugar in a bowl.
Cut the butter into the dry ingredients. the butter should not be melted. Use your hands to crumble it all together
Take 1 cup of the crumb mixture and mix it with the the cherry pie filling.
Preheat the oven to 350 F and grease and flour a 9×13 baking pan. take 1/2 of your remaining crumb mixture and press it into the bottom of the pan. Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove the crust from the oven, pour in the cherry mixture , then top the pie filling with the cream cheese filling and spread the rest of the crumbs on top. Put it back in the oven for another 45 minutes. You can tell it's done when the top is a beautiful golden brown. Cool by putting the pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars after they've completely cooled,or put in refrigerator to firm up a bit before cutting.
