Worst Mother's Day Gifts

"Trees"
Alfred Joyce Kilmer, 1914

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree."
"God has cared for these trees, saved them from drought, disease, avalanches, and a thousand tempests and floods. But he cannot save them from fools." - John Muir

GARDEN UPDATE
Weather remains the same with lots of sun and breezes. The topsy turvey tomatoes are growing like crazy and are now past their shocky time and are soooo happy to finally stretch their feet out and grow!

My sister Betty and I were talking today about how you can water and the next day all the plants look like they are so thirsty! Is this happening in your garden? It's so hot here that I water in the afternoons, except for the topsy turveys, which are watered first thing each morning so they aren't allowed to wilt.

Still recuperating from my shoulder so the garden smells and sounds wonderful and is a visual balm for my pain!
