Easter thoughts

" The fasts are done; the Aves said; The moon has filled her horn And in the solemn night I watch Before the Easter morn. So pure, so still the starry heaven, So hushed the brooding air, I could hear the sweep of an angel's wings if one should earthward fare."
Edna Dean Proctor, Easter Morning

JUST BLOOMED TODAY~READER'S GARDEN
Our highlighted reader today is Aunt Ruth! She is sharing her pictures of her beautiful plants. Here's what she had to say:
Enclosed are three pictures. The first two are of a Spring Cactus. It looks just like the Christmas cactus when growing but blooms this time of the year and the flower looks like a pink daisy.

The third picture is the amaryllis out on the patio room. It is a mimi, a regular large red-orange and a huge one that grew out on the patio and only grew a 2" stem and fell over. So I cut it and it is in a pie dish with some water. It is such a shame because this stalk has SIX flowers. Wish I knew what causes this problem. Most of the time a red line shows up on the stem and then it bends at that point. Armstrong's says it is uneven watering??I think I water them pretty evenly but this happens sometimes.

 GARDEN UPDATE
Started my quark today and it was remarkably easy so far. The hardest part was finding buttermilk that was full strength and not low fat. Had to hit a few stores for that.

Kinda warm today but still cold in the shade. More bulbs are blooming and we are enjoying the view.
