In Love With Our Tree

Every year we look forward to our wonderful apple tree bursting into bloom. We planted this tree when we first moved here over 30 years ago.

This marvelous tree is a scientific horticultural wonder. It is 5 different apples grafted into one tree. They are all green or yellow apples, and it blooms in both white and pink blossoms, from Spring to Fall.

We have had this tree so long I am not sure of the names of the apples, but they include Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Gala, and two others. We have made the most amazing apple butter and when people ask for the recipe, I tell them I don't know it, because I use whatever apples are on that tree! And they're all yummy!

The tree is such a champ. You can always count on it to quietly and spectacularly do it's job. When in full blossom, happy fat bees cruise among the branches, as they pay homage to the sky. The sweet-smelling blossoms lightly scent the air before the fruit arrives.

There is something about Nature that is so comforting. The march of time slows but still accomplishes it's goal and we reap the fruitful rewards.Knowing that every year our tree will bring us a flower show, followed by luscious fruit, is such a blessing, that last year we planted another hybrid, a three red apple tree. Let's hope it turns out to be as awesome as our original tree.
