GARDEN UPDATE
A wee bit of rain last night made my day easier today! Had the house repair crew here again today, so the garden didn't get a lot of attention.

GARDEN GIGGLE
A couple of officers entered a restaurant for lunch and as they sat down overheard a woman telling her son, "If you don't eat your green beans those police officers will come and get you."This was repeated a couple more times, irritating one of the officers that a mother would be teaching the son to be afraid of them.
As the police officers finished their meal and were leaving, one of the officers walked up to the table and told the young man, "I'm 6' 4" and weigh 240 lbs and have never eaten a green bean in my life."
FAUNA
WHAT IN THE WORLD?
On today in American history, people in gardens everywhere were talking about:
1558 Elizabethan Age begins
1839 Verdi's first opera debuts
1869 Suez Canal opens
1958 The Kingston Trio brings folk music to the top of the pop charts
1973 Nixon insists he is not a crook
2003 Washington D.C. sniper John Muhammed convicted; The Terminator becomes the Governator of California
2012 Hostess announces they will close
