Sylphs

"Sylph"
by Karen
Through emerald drenched lenses,
 I looked with my senses,
 adrift on warm breeze,
 midst springs verdant filigree.

Decend into glade,
where wood nymphs sunbathe,
on moss velvet throne
stroke teal fairy grass,
whilst sipping sweet tea
 of sage alchemy,
 a potion so fine
as to age like good wine.

For some time I sat,
 watching honey bees climb,
 into speckled pink bells,
imagine like tigers that
pounce on bold lions,
massaging them gently,
and leaving them dandy.

I dropped as a bottle,
 far down to a stream,
and floated along
within translucent green.
The ivy draped vine
 upwich I did climb,
had led me
to meadow of flowers run wild,
so with them I played
 on the fresh risen field,
whilst pollen baked high
beneath hot noonday sky.

Halfway into dream, it's then I did see,
a fluorescent flutter of heavenly lime.
She decided to rest close by on blue bloom,
so I then closed my eyes so as not to intrude,
she silently left me in deepest of peace,
so sacred, divine, ethereal sylph,
elating eternal my soul for all time.

DID YOU KNOW...? URBAN LEGENDS THE SYLPH

Sylphs are winged air elements or fairies. They are invisible beings of the air. They ride the wind, flying high with eagles, Sylphs are female and are almost transparent. They're slender and graceful, with large glistening eyes and huge wings. Sylphs befriend and protect other flying creatures, such as birds, moths and butterflies. Sylphs can move as fast as lightning, but they may also drift along on droughts or puffs of wind.

DOG CONFESSIONS

GARDEN UPDATE
Watering this a.m. when hubby came out and said, Are you crazy for watering when it's in the 40's? But I got it done quickly and then had the rest of the day free. In comparison I watered the front garden later in the afternoon and it was hotter and not as pleasant.

GARDEN GOODIES~SHARE OUR GARDEN RECIPE #0105 SNICKERDOODLE CUPCAKES WITH CINNAMON BUTTERCREAM FROSTING
The day just gets better with mail from Aunt Ruth! Here's one of the recipes she sent me. Can't wait to try it. She gave it five stars!

You Will Need:
CUPCAKE BATTER:
(1) box white cake mix
(1)c milk
(2) tsp ground cinnamon
(1) stk butter, unsalted, softened
(3) lg eggs, room temperature
 (1) tsp vanilla extract

CINNAMON BUTTERCREAM FROSTING:
(1/2) c butter, room temperature
(3  3/4) c powdered sugar, sifted
(3 to 4) Tbsp milk
(1) tsp vanilla extract
(1) tsp cinnamon

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prep 2 - 12-cupcake pans with cupcake liners.
Blend ingredients with mixer on low speed for 1 minute. Stop the mixer and scrape down side of bowl with a rubber spatula. Increase mixer speed to medium and beat 2 minutes more, scraping side again if needed. Using a standard ice cream scoop, fill each liner 2/3 full.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until they are golden brown and spring back when lightly pressed with your finger. Remove the cupcakes in pans from the oven onto a wire rack, let cool for 10 minutes before removing cupcakes from the pan. Remove cupcakes directly to the wire racks and cool completely 30 minutes more.
FROSTING:

With mixer on low speed, blend butter till fluffy,on low speed about 30 seconds. Stop the mixer on low speed and add 3  3/4 cups of confectioners sugar, 3 T milk, 1 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp cinnamon. Contin
ue mixing until sugar is well incorporated, about 1 minute. Increase speed to medium and beat until light and fluffy, 1 minute more. Blend in up to 1 additional T milk if frosting seems too stiff. Spread onto cooled cupcakes.
