" The Bridge of Love"
Seema Chowdhury (14th September,1971 / Dhaka, Bangladesh)
Build bridges of hope and love
For these are the gifts of heaven above
That brightens your life and your way
And spread joy for you each day
For the gift of love can always heal
The pain inside you that you feel
And it can surely make your heart
A place from where joys impart
So learn to build these bridges in life
If you really want to joyfully survive.

GARDEN UPDATE
Everything is growing, including weeds :( . Our two acres need some serious tractor work, which is not happening for a bit until my shoulder heals.
Was supposed to be 93F today, but I'm not sure whether it got that high or not. It was hot, but then again, we DO live in the desert <grin>.
Added water to Bindi for the first time. She is really changing colors in there, and it is getting hard to distinguish what we had put in. So we must be on the right track!

Looking for a decadent dessert that doesn't fail to WOW? This one fills the bill! A Share Our Garden exclusive, I'm sharing with you! Dark chocolate rich brownie cake laced with cherries and topped with coconut pecan frosting.
Photo shows what the interior of the cake looks like as well |
(1) pkg Brownie Mix (I used 2 pkgs of JIFFY fudge brownie mix, they are much smaller packages)
(1) 20 oz can of cherry pie filling or topping
(6) oz of Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate chips
(2) eggs
(2) T water
(4) oil
(1) T Kirsch liqueur (Brandy extract may be substituted)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F.
I used JIFFY brownie mix so the directions called for 2 eggs, 2 T water and 4T oil. If you use a different brownie mix, follow the directions on the box to make the batter.
Put 1/2 of the batter in a 8X8 pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Spread the can of cherries on top.
Next add the dark chocolate chips, spread in another layer. Then add remaining 1/2 of the batter to cover all the cherries. Do not mix!
Bake in 350F oven for about 50-55 minutes, or until a fork stuck in the center comes out without wet cake batter on it. Let cool on counter. When cool, frost with the coconut pecan frosting.
This cake is extremely rich, so a small piece goes a long way! When you taste it you will discover why it is called an 'enchantment' instead of just a dessert!
